All Grown Up....
SO...
I am so thankful for my family. My dad arranged for me to have a meeting with the dean of admissions from the dental school at MCV. It was so nerve wracking driving there, sitting in the lobby of his office and waiting for him to come out. BUT, it was so awesome. He turned out to be such a good guy, and very nice as well. We looked over my transcript and resume, and discussed the application process. It was really awesome to hear confirmation from the man who will actually be deciding whether or not I get into the school! He was so helpful, and told me what I needed to do before I applied there next summer.
After leaving there, I kind of got nervous to grow up. I know it sounds silly, but to think it won't be long before I'm out of school and into the world. It was really cool, also, how much the Lord calmed my nerves before meeting with Dr. Healy. I think Meredith saw how nervous I was and she prayed over me and asked the Lord to just put it in perspective for me, and he did. I realized that up to this point in my life, God has done everything for a reason. If I don't get into dental school, I know it's because God has a bigger and better plan for my life. I'm very excited to see where this path ends up. :)
I'm going to Capernaum camp! I'm leading a cabin with the other guy Capernaum leaders, so I will be back in Harrisonburg in 1 week! Mere and I are doing really well. I really enjoy reading ya'lls posts.
MISS YA'LL SO MUCH.
I'm excited to get back to Harrisonburg, but I wish I could bring Hanover County with me. Unfortunately, that's not physically possible. Well, that's it. See you when I see you.

Around the world and back again
Hiii!!!
First off, I love and miss each and everyone of you A LOT. Life just is not the same without four hours of team bonding every Thursday night, lets just say I am really looking forward to that come fall. My summer recently has consisted of a lot of driving and basically being in a different state every week, crazy times. I have been studying a lot for the GRE and research graduate schools in my spare time and I'm actually debating getting a PhD in the future, crazy right? The first week of July I was in H-burg coaching gymnastics. It was super fun but super hot and really torn on my back. I currently haven't run in 3 weeks (I feel like I am a confessing drug addict or something). Basically, I can't even stand through a whole church service anymore. Being in Harrisonburg, most people were away, so it was a different experience. I hung out with some different people but still made it to an amazing Hulvey family dinner. Saturday night at the Hulvey's was EXACTLY what I needed. Driving home with Fi I told her how much I needed that because it brought my back to something normal because this summer has been all over the place. Jesus screams out of that house and I had a blast, ate some great food, and took some great pictures :) I experienced pure joy.

With my back I have been learning a lot of how to depend on the lord. This summer he took away job opportunities and now exercising and has been refining me to rely on him and to put my full life in his hands. Not easy, but exciting? After leaving H-burg I came home for a week and then left for the beach (Delaware) and then I am leaving tomorrow for Hershey, PA to volunteer in a hospital and then to PSU to take a tour and meet with the nutrition director. It is really exciting stuff looking into the future but super scary at the same time. Being home has actually been great. I have two friends I keep in touch with and we have grown REALLY close this summer. It has been so freaking fun. In Harrisonburg, being around Kristi I began making sure I spent time with the lord each morning and have kept that up since returning and it has made all the difference. It is hard to explain but I feel so much happier. I also have been able to serve my family easier if I have spent time with the lord first.
After returning from Hershey I will be home for 1 day then I am heading to DC for the night to see my sister and then it is back to H-burg for me. I'm pet sitting Polly for a week. I will then be home for a week and then at the beach for a week and then to H-burg again for camp. Crazy how fast summer is flying. I take the GRE Aug 2. I am getting excited for camp. Mileyah texted me today and she mailed in her deposit this afternoon yay! This will be my third camp trip with her and I am super pumped to spend a whole week with her.
Please pray for my week volunteering, tour at PSU, and time in H-burg. I am planning on hanging out with Molly's family and hopefully finalizing camp stuff, as well as watching Polly and working in the chemistry lab.
Love and miss you all,

RIPPLES RIPPIN' IT UP.
HEY ERRBODY. Hope summer is going well. Just started my swim lessons with the kiddos. They are hilarious already. Well the water is way too cold for their little gills, so they usually just end up whimpering and turning a slight color of purple. But I'm giving private lessons to quite a few kids right now and have more lined up! I'm stoked....
^That was written last month then I forgot to post it whoops. So now far into the swimming season! I am coaching swim lessons/team a lot now...I calculated I'm in the pool about 30-35 hours a week. NOT counting being around the pool. It's exhausting, but I have learned so much, and love these kids. I'm doing private lessons during the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays, coaching group lessons at night (which is with the REALLY little kids, average of 3 or 4 years old), babysitting Monday Wednesday and Friday afternoons after practice in the morning, and the Ripples every morning and swim meets Wednesdays and Saturdays. Lucky my hair isn't during green yet! It's really draining, but rewarding as well. Been spending quality time with Evan! It's going to be 4 years in October which is weird. We are reading a book together called "Living Jesus" and learning a lot. I am also reading the book about not sweating the small stuff from Melissa! It's really, really great. Also I'm going to the beach soon with my family, and am stoked to surf. Been waiting for this all summer! I've been seeing my WyldLife kids from time to time here as well. The Lord has been showing up everywhere it is so exciting.
Please pray for my sister and health. Haven't fainted or anything at all this summer! Couldn't feel more blessed.
Praying for y'all.
PSLAM 34:5
Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings." - 1 Peter 5:8-9
"At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes," says the LORD (Zephaniah 3:20)

I post too often...woops
HIIIII
Sorry for posting so often, it has just been such a good summer I guess!! I have a thanks be to god. Everyone should have a thanks be to god so you should post those things!!
Anyways...
Two weeks ago my grandparents told me that their new neighbors had a daughter that was a dietetics major at Virginia Tech. I thought it was cool but didn't think much of it. She was coming to visit and wanted to meet me and hear about my experience at JMU. So this weekend my grandfather came over and gave me her name and number and told me she was down for the weekend to give her a call. We got together for coffee on Saturday morning and discovered that the world is so small. She is from NOVA, went to high school with Afia, goes to church with Cali, her family is on Young Life committee and knows the Goodmans, she did work crew in high school with Anne G. and Isaac, she is really involved with CRU and is going to Charleston for the whole summer for the same trip Kelsey Powell did last summer, and the connections go on and on. It was really cool because she loves Jesus and will be living down here in August and next summer. We also are the same major but a year apart so we can help each other with connections, etc.

Forgot these point..
oops... forgot to post these..
Thanks be to GOD
At work, one of the hygienist is a SUPER STRONG christian! It was really encouraging to hear HER confront ME about my faith. The conversation got started because she was working on a patient and i was doing this thing for her called perio-charting, and she was listening to christian music in her operatory. Once I asked her about it, she went on a Jesus tangent, it was awesome!
What's my favorite song you might ask?
Well, i'll tell you. My favorite song currently is Springsteen by Eric Church.

What's a blog?
Whaddup! Sorry I literally have no freakin' idea how to work a computer, so I literally got 3 different people to try to make a blog for me. Not terribly techy to say the least...Anyways!
Summer is pretty sick so far. After I got home, I went to a couple lacrosse games for my high school where I still have a lot of friends playing on the teams. It was great to catch up with them (lol catch up...punny) and hang out. I also got to see a lot of friends from high school so far. AND I went to the fun. concert with Afia and Evan Saturday we got back, which was so great. What a great show, gosh...then Tuesday I left for the beach with ten other freshmen girls involved in YoungLife. The group was me, Kaylee, Jess D, Jessica F, Leah, Bekah Meyer, Sarah, Anna, Rachel P, Caroline H, and Lindy. Was a pretty swell group. I was a little afraid because typically a lot of girls can end in a lot of girly drama. But there was none of that! It was so great to get to know them better. Had so much fun though it was rainy all days but one...Went swimming of course! Not surfing...but still very fun. And ended up getting SO BURNED. I literally just peeled off a layer of the skin on my stomach. Its still so bad and I got back last Friday. I can't think of a better vacation to start the summer though.
Other than that, I've been packing my schedule with lots of fun things. Hung out with my WyldLife girls here, and been to the YoungLife club here. Its been just a very nice start to the summer. Had a lot of family time which has been good, sometimes hard but typically good. Playing a lot of lacrosse with my brother.
About to go into coaching the Ripples soon, just went to an elementary school talent show, so I could see all of them. So many kids either sang or danced to that song by Onedirection, What makes you beautiful. So funny. But until then, giving guitar lessons at home.
But yesterday was interesting...Yesterday was really hard actually kind of something that popped out of the blue. My good friend Nikolle has a sister named Ashleigh who has been struggling with depression for a while, and has had several suicide attempts. Yesterday Ashleigh attempted suicide again. But this time it was so scary and different from the others. I have hung out with Ash several times, and prayed with her and thought she was feeling better. She is a hard person to get close to though. Well Monday morning around 4 AM she took an entire bottle of sleeping pills and literally ripped up her leg with a razor. She was unconscious for 12 hours. Her mom found her first, bleeding and unconscious. I just can't imagine it, it was so horrible just hearing about it. The cops and ambulances showed up trying to wake Ash up, but she wouldn't. She was put in ICU and is still there tonight. She finally woke up later Monday night, and called Nikolle when I was with her at a friend's house. You could barely understand what Ashleigh was saying she was so drugged up. Yesterday Nikolle, our friend Rachel, and I, went to go visit Asheligh in ICU. She was awake, but looked so weak and little on the hospital bed it was alarming. We had small talk for a bit, but the elephant in the room needed to be addressed. It was only me and Nikolle there with her then. Nikolle sort of sat there quiet and sad. I am not sure why, but I started talking to Ashleigh about everything. She needed to be told that she is hurting a lot more people than herself, and it is not her life to take. Only the Lord can decide when it is time to go, and He obviously still wants her here. I swear, craziest thing ever, I didn't do any of the talking, Jesus Christ Himself was in that room. I left and talked to her parents for a little. They were so exhausted and worn out looking it was painful. Her mom said "I have seen things in the past 24 hours that no parents ever should see." It was so hard, but for some reason her mom thanked me. The Lord is working hard there, and will continue to work in that situation, the situation needs so much prayer. You all got my email, but this has been weighing so heavily on me, so please continue to pray. She will be going into in-patient care soon, and will get treatment, but it is up to her what she does with the treatment. And may it all be in the name of the Lord.
You guys are all so great, I pray that your summer is full of the Lord. Whew sorry that was so long. Miss y'all.
Favorite song right now...Wanted by Hunter Hayes.

Ello dere it's great to be home!
Hi hi I love and miss you all so much!!!
1 and 2. (sorry not sorry) I haven't had much time at home yet! I went camping the first weekend of summer with a few of our friends at the cabin that we have all been to before... which was a ton of fun! and then the next night I saw my favorite band FUN. in Charlottesville! It was the best concert that I've been to, they were so great! And then on Tuesday, my friends Jared Iscrupe from Charlotte/ECU NC, Madison Lewis from Mt Airy NC, and Josh Leslie (who you know).. (all summer staff friends) all came over and spent the night. In the morning, we left for Syracuse New York! We stayed with our friend Emily who just graduated from Syracuse for two nights and got to catch up with her and a few of our other friends who we'd met the summer before at Saranac. We then left Friday morning for Rochester NY and spent 3 nights there. In Rochester we painted things at Color Me Mine, celebrated our friend Megan's 22nd birthday, hung out with a TON of hipsters, went to the Rochester YL leader end of the year picnic (weird but cool!) hung out with Megan McEacharn a lot, went to Niagara Falls and got our ponchos very soaked! (but don't worry I kept my hair dry), ate a Rochester Garbage Plate (disgusting) sat on a $25 Goodwill couch in the middle of a parking lot for 3 hours while playing music, hung out at the Erie Canal and Lake Ontario, went to Watkins Glen, NY (a really awesome gorge/waterfall/canyon) check out the Facebook photos! and probably spent 30 hours in a car total. I was so blessed to see as many people as I did and had some awesome conversations. The YL Rochester and Syracuse communities is quite unlike any other and it was very interesting/refreshing/awesome to be immersed in it for a few days. A huge thanks be to God for keeping us safe and healthy for the whole trip, we did a lot of things on whim and a lot could have gone wrong... but didn't! Midnight Coyote (my car) did a fantastic job, we couldn't have asked for a better trip!
3. I luckily did get to spend a good amount of time with the Lord on my trip, although it's nice to have a lot of time to myself again starting tomorrow. being in community is awesome, but I know being in solitude with the Lord can be even more renewing, so I pray that this time I have (10 days) before my birthday :D and when I got back to JMU to start OPAing is productive, restful, and rejuivating in the Lord, His Word, and His creation! I pray that the Lord prepares my heart for the work that He has me doing when I go back to JMU.I know it will be a hard community to live in at times with the other OPAs, but such a purposeful one. I pray that I never lose sight of His mission and what He has called me to do. I want to pray for good, meaningful time with my family while I'm at home, as well as keep pursuing Skyline Girls even more so now that I'm at home and away from them.
4. Lights by Ellie Goulding!
you won't be able to not dance if you turn this on.... try it!
You all are so inspiring to me. The work that the Lord has done in your summers so far is so encouraging and amazing! I am SO excited for the rest of your summers! Granted I haven't started waking up at 6:30 am yet... (haha!) but don't worry in 10 days I will... yay for early mornings! We might as well all load up in Matt's car (needs a name) and drive to the school... I wish!
I love all of you very much.

and PS I got a haircut too but I actually cut off 15.7 inches but I'm not sure if you can tell I can't really

Really guys...?
Freaking Blogs,
Any who...
1. TBG moment is the following fun story (and kinda answers #2, so I'm gonna do #2 first)
2. I started full time (6:30-3:30) work at JMU's Engineering Department with Facilities Management last Monday and it has been one of my favorite experiences so far. The guy I work with has been an engineer for JMU for like 30 years. He's the head mechanical engineer and he is a hoot. I ride around with him from job site to site working with the local contractors and other engineers and we are in charge. I say we, because after the second day, he had me do his job while he made calls and checked email. The best part is that he is a christian and HE LEADS BIBLE STUDY WITH CO-WORKERS DURING OUR LUNCH EVERY THRUSDAY!!!!! Oh and the first day he invited me to come and made sure every day that I remembered to join them. I went and it was one of the most Christ filled moments of my life. I was placed at this internship for this reason; to disciple and encourage these 8-10 other adults. They were in shock from hearing the mission of YL. I loved it. Many of them were verbally commenting on how encouraging it was to just meet me. I'm like, it aint me! We got a whole team that is devoted to this mission, and it's all Christ! One of the guys knows Chrissy's mom and dad, and another goes to a church that Chrissy and I have visited. It was simply just one of those moments where you finally realize why your life has gone the way it has. I can't wait for lunch this Thursday. I hope you all are as excited as I am about this! Age is meaningless in Christ's eyes!
Outside of work, I'm mowing yards, playing turf league soccer, church league softball, mennonite baseball, planning a wedding (<~ What tha?), and hangin at the Wam/house. I miss you guys.

Any who...

My Life Be Like..
Aloha from Hanover county!
1) This summer has been fantastic. I have been working every day at my dad's office. It has been so great, just in the week that I've been there. Also, the people there said I could write it off as a paid internship! I've literally learned more in the past week, then I could've learned in any class. I've get to dress in scrubs every day, get up at 6:30, and go to work with my coffee like a grow up! It's awesome. I've gotten to take classes at the practice's central location, which makes me certified to work there. I actually got to work in somebody's mouth this week! (WHAT?!) By the end of the summer, I'm going to be dental assisting full time. CRAY.
2) Jesus is so good. As much as I hate schedules, it has been very relieving to have some sort of schedule to my day. I get up in the morning at 6:30, and hang out with Jesus. I eat breakfast and get to work by 8:00. After I get off at 5:30, I go to the gym! With the remaining time, I get to hang out with my friends and what not. I've been going through the devotional book 'My Utmost for his Highest' and it has been fantastic. This summer has just looked so much different than last summer, it's crazy. ALSO, PH had club AT MY HOUSE on Tuesday, and 45 kids came! It was literally breathtaking to see KIDS THAT I KNOW from Hanover county come to a Younglife club and hear God's word, like, what? God's doing big things at PH and it's such and answer to many prayers to see it coming up.
3) Meredith and I have still gotten to continue our weekly Monday bible studies via Skype. It has been really awesome studying the word with her and a great way to just continue to help us grow! I'm going to Northern Virginia next weekend to see her as well!
4) Prayer Requests:
--> Please pray for my family, and that they (Bryson in specific) will catch the vision that Christ has for him.
--> That this little 'summer acceleration' will not be temporary and I can continue to grow closer to Jesus.
--> Meredith and I can continue to glorify God with every aspect of our relationship
--> That I can be bold in my faith at work, with my friends, and with my family.

My Life So Far
Hiii!!!
Currently at the hospital doing some charting and research for my case study. I am a grandmom these days in bed by 9 and passed out by 9:30 or 10:00! I work 7 hour days and it is an hour in the car there and then an hour back. I usually leave the house by 6:30 and get home around 4. Living in the beach house alone and the introvert I am is loving it!!! Go to my grandparents for dinner some nights or I'll just put something together eat in bed, do some work, and watch some food network, obvi! Oo and how could I forget my daily walk on the beach around 4:30 picking up seashells and feeling at complete peace.
I am ABSOLUTLY loving the hospital, surprising I know. I have gotten to see so much already. I only almost passed out once, which is huge for me. Life is good.
Have been researching a church to go to Sunday but other than that Jesus has been kind of absent. I know I need to spend that time it is just harder when I have more time, if that makes sense? Less of a schedule and I seem to put it off. I am going to read a book with my friend Kathleen from home and our bible study with Kristi is doing Ruth.
Prayer requests: please, PLEASE pray for the rest of my summer and determining where the lord wants me. I am currently in limbo with what to do for June and July and where to live, etc. I did not get the chemistry position which leaves me at square one. Also, pray for Drew and the family as always and for good conversations with him. Laslty, pray that I spend MORE time with Jesus.
Adding to the post :) for all of you who don't know aka I think everyone does I cut 5 inches off of my hair!!
